Summary:
High school student Hitomi is transported from Earth to the magical world of Gaea, where she meets Van Fanel pilot of a mysterious and powerful machine, Escaflowne. Hitomi quickly becomes embroiled in the conflicts between the evil Zaibach Empire and the several countries that surround it. The main objective of the empire is to revive the legendary power of the ancient city of Atlantis which in the end could mean the downfall of Gaea.

As the series progresses, many of the characters' pasts and
motivations, as well as the history of Atlantis and the true nature of
the planet Gaea, are revealed.
This is one of those animes that once you see it you won´t ever forget. The story and set are simply amazing and the soundtrack manages to enhance it even more. The characters are memorable and so are the battles. The romance is well done and enjoyable. Overall it´s an awesome anime despite the fact it tends to be slow paced and the characters have horrible noses. A must see.
